      She married Mikkel Arneson Fønhus, son of Arne Arnesen Fønhus and Anne Hermannsdatter Hølersetre, in 1877 at Oppland.¹ She purchased Goplen, Nordre Land, Oppland with her husband and her brother Anders Olssen Storruste. After the death of her husband her brother helped her raise the children.³ Her husband, Mikkel Arneson Fønhus, died from a stroke (hjerneslag) on 21 July 1894 at Goplen, Nordre Land, Oppland.^1,4

      Mikkel Arneson Fønhus was born on 11 December 1853 at Fønhus søndre, Sør-Aurdal, Oppland.^1,2 He was christened on 25 December 1853 at Bagn sogn, Sør-Aurdal prestegjeld, Oppland.^3,2

     He appeared on the 1865 Census at Fønhus søndre, Sør-Aurdal, Oppland, with his father and step-mother, as: Mikkel Arnesen, his Son (hans Søn), age 13, born in Sør-Aurdal parish.(See whole household).⁴

      He married Guri Olsdatter Storruste, daughter of Ole Christopherson Goplerud and Gjertrud Andersdatter Storruste, in 1877 at Oppland.¹ Mikkel Arneson Fønhus purchased Goplen, Nordre Land, Oppland with his wife and brother-in-law Anders Olssen Storruste.⁵

     He wanted the family to use Fønhus as their last name, but his children used Goplen, after the farm were they were born and raised.⁶ He died on 21 July 1894 at Goplen, Nordre Land, Oppland, from a stroke (hjerneslag), at age 40.^1,7 He was buried on 28 July 1894 at Torpa sogn, Nordre Land prestegjeld, Oppland.⁷

      Gundborg Martinsdatter was also known as Gundborg Atzler.³ Gundborg Martinsdatter was also known as Gundborg Martinsen.⁴ She was born illegitimate on 24 July 1864 at Garløseie, Bærum, Akershus.^2,5 She was christened on 11 September 1864 at Haslum kirke, Bærum, Akershus. Witnesses were Christine Thorstensdatter Garløs, Randine Halvorsdatter, Ole Guttormsen Garløs, Halvor Nilsen and Hans Hansen Sten.^2,5

The probably lied on their age as they are registered as 19 and 21. Anders had two months left before his 17th birthday, and they left on Christian's 20th.^4,5 He married Oleanna Museus at USA.¹

Anna Kristina Engelsdatter Tveit¹
b. 26 July 1868, d. 4 December 1942

      Anna Kristina Engelsdatter Tveit was born on 26 July 1868 at Tveit, Samnanger, Hordaland.^2,3 She was christened on 9 August 1868 at Samnanger sogn, Hordaland.^2,3 The christening record uses the spelling Ane Christine Engelsdatter.³ She married Nils Johan Lasseson Høysæter, son of Lasse Nilsson Høysæter and Brita Johannesdatter Grønsdalsmyri, on 5 November 1889 at Samnanger sogn, Hordaland.²

Edvard Martinsen

      Anders Gudbrandsen Tuftin was born on 27 July 1871 at Strømsoddbygda, Norderhov, Buskerud.^1,2 He was christened on 8 October 1871 at Lunder sogn, Ringerike, Buskerud.² He and Christian Gulbrandsen emigrated on 25 May 1888 from Ytre Ådal (Hval) sogn, Buskerud, on the ship Rollo leaving for New York from Oslo. The probably lied on their age as they are registered as 19 and 21. Anders had two months left before his 17th birthday, and they left on Christian's 20th.^3,4

     It is possible Anders Gulbrandsen Tuftin is the same person as the Anders A. Tuften appearing in censuses in Minnesota in 1895, 1900, 1905, 1910, 1920 and 1930. But this Anders is recorded as being born in 1863 and, with one exception, as immigrated in 1884. On the other hand his wife his recorded as Emma one year, Ingeborg the next, and Emma again the year after, so the possibility of deceit or a census mistake is still there.

     Ingvold Gudbrandsen was born on 5 August 1873 at Kammerudeiet, Gran sogn, Oppland.^2,1 He was christened on 12 October 1873 at Gran, Oppland. Witnesses were Karen Halvorsdatter Elnæseiet, Oleine Halvorsdatter Onsagereiet, Hans Andersen, Karel Andersen and Niels Andersen.² The christening record uses the spelling Ingvold Gudbrandsen.² He was registered as moved from Kammerudeiet, Gran sogn, Oppland, to Ådal, Buskerud on 18 November 1887.³ He married Anette Jørgensen, daughter of Andreas Jørgensen and Lise Olsdatter, on 24 November 1897 at Ytre Ådal (Hval) sogn, Buskerud.⁴

     Ragna Martinsen was born after 1878.^2,3 She witnessed the christening of Wendela Augusta Hermine Atzler on 26 December 1895 at Haslum kirke, Bærum, Akershus.¹ She witnessed the christening of Nora Gulovna Atzler on 15 August 1897 at Haslum kirke, Bærum, Akershus.⁴

Olava Gudbrandsdatter Tuftin¹
b. 29 April 1878

     Olava Gudbrandsdatter Tuftin was born on 29 April 1878 at Bergsundeie, Ådal, Buskerud.^1,2 She was christened on 7 July 1878 at Ådal sogn, Ringerike, Buskerud.² She was confirmed on 16 October 1892 at Ytre Ådal (Hval) sogn, Buskerud, with very good marks for knowledge and behaviour (kr. kundskb: nest.meg.godt / opførsel: meg.godt).³ She married Karl Arnesen on 3 November 1901.¹ I've not recorded the source for the children, and it's all very scarce information with no dates so it should not be considered a reliable list.

Gina Gulbrandsen Tuftin¹
b. 6 August 1880

      Gina Gulbrandsen Tuftin was born on 6 August 1880 at Bergsundbråten, Ådal, Buskerud.^1,2 She was christened on 24 October 1880 at Ådal sogn, Ringerike, Buskerud.² She was confirmed on 7 October 1894 at Ytre Ådal (Hval) sogn, Buskerud.³ She married Gabriel Martinsen Karlsrud on 16 March 1900 at Ytre Ådal (Hval) sogn, Buskerud.¹

     She appeared on the 1900 Census at Løkkes gård (under Hen), Ådal, Buskerud, with her husband, as: Gina Gulbrandsdatter, Laborer's wife (Arbeiderkone), born 1880. Her brother and his family are registered at the same location.(See whole household).⁴

Gjertrud Mikkelsdtr. Goplen¹
b. 24 December 1881, d. 28 September 1967

      Gjertrud Mikkelsdtr. Goplen was born on 24 December 1881 at Goplen, Nordre Land, Oppland.^1,2 She was christened on 22 January 1882 at Torpa sogn, Nordre Land prestegjeld, Oppland.² She married Peder Aas, son of Johannes Olaus Aas and Regine Olava Aas, in 1914 at Haug kirke, Øvre Eiker, Buskerud.¹ She died on 28 September 1967 at Øvre Eiker, Buskerud, at age 85.¹

      Nels Tuftin was born on 21 January 1883 at Knuterud, Ådal, Buskerud.^2,3,4 He was christened on 22 April 1883 at Ådal sogn, Ringerike, Buskerud.^2,3,4

     He appeared on the 1900 Census at Berjekastet under Hval, Ådal sogn, Ringerike, Buskerud, with his parents, as: Nils Tuftin, Laborer and Shoe maker (Arbeider Skomager), born 1883.(See whole household).² He witnessed the christening of Harald Tuftin on 1 February 1903 at Ytre Ådal (Hval) sogn, Buskerud.⁵ He emigrated on 28 October 1904 from Oslo to Wisconsin, USA on the Angelo.⁶ He married Anna Marie Thompson.¹

Marie Helene Tervaniemi¹
b. 19 March 1884, d. 1964

     Marie Helene Tervaniemi was born on 19 March 1884 at Sør-Varanger, Finnmark.¹ She married Haakon Ebeltoft, son of Kristian Fredrik Elias Ebeltoft and Bereth Christopha Kiil, say 1910.¹ She died in 1964 at Vadsø by, Finnmark.¹

Andrea Pettersen¹

     Andrea Pettersen was born in 1885 at Alta sogn, Finnmark.¹

     He appeared on the 1900 Census at Altengårdskoven, Alta, Finnmark, with his parents in his brother's household, as: Andrea Pettersen, son[sic], female[sic], unmarried, Fishery (Fiskeri), 1885, Finish ethnicity and language.(See whole household).¹

Gustava Tuftin^1,2
b. 13 April 1885, d. 1923

      Gustava Tuftin was also known as Gustava Gulbrands. Tuflin.³ She was born on 13 April 1885 at Hvalseie, Ådal, Buskerud.^4,2,5 She was christened on 5 July 1885 at Ytre Ådal (Hval) sogn, Buskerud.⁵ She was confirmed on 16 September 1900 at Ytre Ådal (Hval) sogn, Buskerud.⁶

     She appeared on the 1900 Census at Hval, Ådal, Buskerud, with her employers, as: Gustava Tuftin, unmarried (ug), servant (Tjener), born 1885.(See whole household).⁷

      She witnessed the christening of Harald Tuftin on 1 February 1903 at Ytre Ådal (Hval) sogn, Buskerud.⁸ She and Inger Thorine Gulbrands. Tuflin emigrated on 1 December 1905 from Oslo to Wisconsin, USA on the Montebello.³ She married Christian Wiker.² She died in 1923 at Bergen, Alberta.²

Haakon Ebeltoft¹

     Haakon Ebeltoft was born on 23 December 1885 at Vadsø by, Finnmark.^1,2

     He appeared on the 1900 Census at Havnegate, Vadsø, Finnmark, with his parents and siblings, as: Haakon Ebeltoft, son (Søn), born 1886.(See whole household).¹ He married Marie Helene Tervaniemi say 1910.² He died on 10 July 1947 at Vadsø by, Finnmark, at age 61.²

Inger Thorine Tuftin¹
b. 9 February 1887

     Inger Thorine Tuftin was also known as Inger Thorine Gulbrands. Tuflin.² She was born on 9 February 1887 at Hvalseie, Ådal, Buskerud.^3,4 She was christened on 7 April 1887 at Ytre Ådal (Hval) sogn, Buskerud.⁴

     She appeared on the 1900 Census at Berjekastet under Hval, Ådal sogn, Ringerike, Buskerud, with her parents, as: Inger Thorine Tuftin, Daughter (Datter), born 1887.(See whole household).³ She witnessed the christening of Harald Tuftin on 1 February 1903 at Ytre Ådal (Hval) sogn, Buskerud.⁵ She and Gustava Gulbrands. Tuflin emigrated on 1 December 1905 from Oslo to Wisconsin, USA on the Montebello.²

     It is possible that Inga T Hollerud who appears in the 1920 and 1930 US Censuses with husband Albert Hollerud is the same as Inger Thorine Tuftin. Age and immigration date matches and Inger might very well have become Inga in the US.

      Peder Aas was born on 24 January 1888 at Aas, Øvre Eiker, Buskerud.^1,2 He was christened on 2 April 1888 at Haug kirke, Øvre Eiker, Buskerud.²

     He appeared on the 1900 Census at Aas, Øvre Eiker, Buskerud, with his parents and older siblings, as: Peder Olausen, In school (Skoledicipel), born 1887.(See whole household).³ He married Gjertrud Mikkelsdtr. Goplen, daughter of Mikkel Arneson Fønhus and Guri Olsdatter Storruste, in 1914 at Haug kirke, Øvre Eiker, Buskerud.⁴ He died on 9 August 1963 at Aas, Øvre Eiker, Buskerud, at age 75.⁴

     He appeared on the 1900 Census at Berjekastet under Hval, Ådal sogn, Ringerike, Buskerud, with his Parents, as: Karl Tuftin, Son (Søn), born 1889.(See whole household).¹

      Cousins Karl Gudbrandsen Tuftin and Andreas Johansen Odda were confirmed on 28 August 1904 at Ytre Ådal (Hval) sogn, Buskerud, (see source for marks).⁵ He emigrated with his parents Gulbrand Knudsen Tuftin and Gulbjørg Knudsen Tuftin on 5 October 1907 from Ytre Ådal (Hval) sogn, Buskerud, to Wisconsin, USA, on the ship Montebello leaving from Oslo.³ He married Gena Erikson in 1917.²
